Tokyo stocks flat

Monday, 19 May 2014

Tokyo stocks were flat on Monday morning in thin trade, giving up most of their early gains that came in response to a rise on Wall Street and stronger-than-expected Japanese machinery orders. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index inched up 10.15 points to 14,106.74 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.10 percent, or 1.17 points, to 1,157.90, according to AFP.
