Tokyo stocks flat by break

Tokyo stocks ended the morning session flat on Wednesday as early advances were pared by profit-taking following four successive days of gains. The Nikkei 225 index edged up 6.55 points to 14,643.07 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.19 per cent, or 2.26 points, at 1,197.37, according to AFP.
