Top 10 leaders snare 31.39pc of total turnover

Top 10 companies grabbed 31.39 per cent of total market turnover featured by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in last week.
During the week, the premier bourse posted a turnover of above Tk 29.13 billion, whereas top 10 companies featured an aggregate amount of turnover worth above Tk 9.14 billion.
The DSE witnessed a moderate correction in turnover in last week value following the selling pressure observed in some major sectors.
Of top 10 companies, the turnover of seven companies rose ranging from 3.15 per cent to 11.54 per cent.
On the other hand, the turnover of three companies declined ranging from 2.72 per cent to 6.60 per cent in last week.
United Power Generation & Distribution Company Limited (UPGDCL) topped the weekly turnover chart. The company's turnover was above Tk 1.94 billion which was 6.69 per cent of the exchange's total turnover posted in last week. The company's turnover rose 6.61 per cent compared to previous week.
Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited posted a turnover of above Tk 1.72 billion and grabbed 5.91 per cent of the weekly turnover. Its turnover rose 11.54 per cent in last week compared to previous week.
Fortune Shoes posted a turnover of above Tk 1.77 billion and captured 4.04 per cent of the weekly turnover. The company's turnover declined 6.60 per cent compared to the previous week.
Square Pharmaceuticals grabbed 3.08 per cent of the weekly turnover after featuring a turnover of above Tk 896.58 million. The company's total turnover rose 2.23 per cent compared to previous week.
The turnover of Monno Ceramic Industries was above Tk 851.58 million. The company grabbed 2.92 per cent of total turnover featured by the DSE in last week. Its turnover rose 9.27 per cent in last week compared to previous week.
Alif Industries featured a total turnover of above Tk 664.31 million in last week and grabbed 4.76 per cent of the exchange's weekly turnover. The company's turnover rose 4.76 per cent compared to previous week.
The Peninsula Chittagong posted a turnover of above Tk 487.54 million and grabbed 1.67 per cent of the weekly turnover. The company's turnover rose 3.93 per cent compared to previous week.
Of other turnover leaders, Grameenphone featured a turnover of above Tk 477.58 million followed by Legacy Footwear above Tk 474.78 million and Monno Jute Stafflers above Tk 444.47 million.
