Top spots for Cox's Bazar, Sunderbans among new7wonders

A six-day mobile voting campaign was launched on April 13, to maintain Cox's Bazar and the Sundarbans at top spots in the competition of "The New7wonders Foundation."
Bangladesh Parjaton Corporation (BPC) & HeidelbergCement Group have jointly arranged the campaign in co-operation with Response Event and Activation. BPC Chairman Shofique Alam Mehedi inaugurated the campaign titled " Your Vote is Needed Just Now" through a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity. Deputy Managing Director of HeidelbergCement Group Ramakanta Bhattacharjee and CEO of Response Events and Activation Syed Monir Hossain also spoke at the press conference.
Speaking on the occasion the BPC chairman said placing of Cox's Bazar, the longest unbroken sea beach in the world, and the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forests, at top spots in the competition of "The New&Wonders Foundation" has opened up a glorious chapter for the country's tourism sector.
"The number of domestic tourists increased to a great extent in the last one year due to placing of Cox' Bazar and the Sundarbans at the top spot in the competition, he said. Mehdi called upon the people to brighten the image of the country further by casting vote for Cox's Bazar and the Sundarbans.
Mr. Ramakanta Bhatarjee said, "It will be the biggest achievement for the country after the independence if Cox's Bazar & the Sundarbans are able to maintain top spots in the final round of the competition".
