Top terror demands Tk 20m toll from city trader

Absconding top terror Shahadat has been threatening to kill a trader of the city's Mirpur area, demanding toll of Tk 20 million, reports UNB.
The trader and his family members demanded repatriation of Shahadat, who is now hiding in India to face trial.
In a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity Sunday, president of Shadhin Bangla Super market of Mirpur Shah Ali area and vice-president of Dhaka Mahanagar (North) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League Anwar Hossain Litu alleged that Shahadat has threatened him to pay Tk 20 million within seven days, otherwise he (Shahadat) will kill Litu or any member of his family.
Litu claimed that Shahadat, who is allegedly involved in over two dozens murders, killed his younger brother Hazi Monir Uddin on August 15, 2006.
Even, members of 'Shahadat Bahini' fired gunshots at him indiscriminately on July 13 last year. He narrowly escaped, but one trader named Rahim was killed, while another eight persons sustained bullet injuries in the incident.
Litu's brother Iqbal Hossain Titu alleged that cadres of Shahadat have established a reign of extortion in Mirpur area, and local traders have to give him tolls regularly.
Litu's father Hazi Nur Mohammad Sikder and mother Rawshan Ara Begum along with some local traders were present in the press conference.s
