LALMONIRHAT, June 16 (UNB): A tornado lashed a village in Sadar Upazila Saturday morning, leaving five people injured.
Sources said the violent storm swept over Ayrkhamar village at 10.30 am. Lasting about 15 seconds, the twister damaged over 100 houses, schools and a mosque.
"Casualty was averted as people were alert and most of them took safe shelter quickly after finding the sky becoming darkened," says a spot account of the scene.
