Touchstone statute worth Tk 25m recovered, two arrested

BARISAL, Aug 26 (UNB): Police recovered a touchstone statue of Buddha, worth Tk 25 million (2.5 crores) from Nazirpur Upazila in Pirojpur district and arrested two in this connection Saturday noon.
Police sources said Nasir Sharif (35) of Baghajora village of Nazipur Upazila and Abdul Aziz (55) of Bhanga Upazila in Faridpur district went to Tutul Daktar, a quack of Nazirpur and proposed to him to sale the statue at Tk 0.2 million.
Tutul kept the two men waiting tactfully and informed the police. Police caught them red-handed and recovered the statue.
