Tougher programmes this month: Khaleda

Tuesday, 2 December 2014

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that her party will announce tougher action programmes shortly. Speaking with the reporters after inaugurating a month-long programme chalked out by Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddha Dal to mark the month of victory on Monday night, the BNP chief dropped a broad hint of launching a movement for early election under an ‘impartial administration’ after a string of programmes throughout December. ‘This is the month of victory. We’ll announce strong programmes this month alongside celebrating the victory to protect the country’s interests,’ she said. She also said this time they will not leave the streets until the fall of current corrupt, repressive and killer administration. Khaleda hoped that people will respond to her call for a decisive movement as they did it during the January-5 elections by boycotting the polls as per her appeal. Khaleda, a former prime minister, also claimed that her party is a pro-liberation one and its alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami is only for election and movement. Refuting the ruling party leaders’ allegation that BNP had given the Razakars the chance to use the national flag in their vehicles by making two Jamaat leaders ministers, Khaleda said it was Awami League that did it first by making Nurul Islam Razakar a minister, according to a news agency.
