Touhidul Alam Khan new National Bank MD

Md Touhidul Alam Khan has joined National Bank Limited as the managing director and CEO with effect from Thursday, according to a press release of the bank.
He joins from The Premier Bank, where he previously held the position of additional managing director.
Mr Khan's banking career began in 1993 at Agrani Bank as a senior officer. He then steadily rose through the ranks, taking on senior management positions at various institutions, including Prime Bank, Bank Asia, Modhumoti Bank and Standard Bank.
Throughout his 31-year career, Mr Khan has held key roles such as chief business officer, chief risk officer, chief anti-money laundering compliance officer and chief credit officer. He has also undertaken diverse strategic responsibilities.
Among his key achievements are leading the first Shariah-compliant syndication deal in Bangladesh and orchestrating the largest syndication term loan.
Mr Khan holds a master's degree in finance from the University of Dhaka and is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
He also holds the distinction of being the first certified sustainability reporting assurer (CSRA) in Bangladesh.
