Tour cos at BITF 2013 receiving good response from visitors

Companies participating in Bangladesh International Tourism Fair (BITF) 2013 have been receiving good response from the visitors despite ongoing political unrest.
The companies-- tour agencies, tour operators and realtors focusing on tourist spots came up with various products and offers including discount prices.
Omar Faruque, director of Amazin Tours told the FE "Despite ongoing political unrest many visitors came to their stall and the company is happy".
He said at the fair their company offered discount price to the visitors of domestic and international tourist spots.
Sazadur Rahman, Executive officer at a private company came to the fair to book his tour passage to Nepal.
He said, "I have never visited any foreign country with the help of a tour operator but this year taking the help from a tour company".
Hyder Robin, Marketing Executive of BIM Tourism (Pvt) Ltd told the FE that their company takes tourists to Singapore and Bangkok. They are offering 25 per cent discount and received a good response from the visitors.
Md Al-Azad, Senior Executive of BD Tours Ltd said they offered 40 per cent discount to the visitors at the fair.
He said they want to promote the historic King's Palace as a popular tourist destination to the domestic and international tourists.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has declared discount on tickets on its various routes targeting the BITF.
The national flag carrier has been issuing Dhaka-Yangon route ticket at 50 per cent, Dhaka-Delhi and Dhaka-Hong Kong at 30 per cent and Dhaka-Bangkok and Dhaka-London at 25 per cent discount rates from its stall at the fair.
The three-day Bangladesh International Tourism Fair (BITF) 2013 began Thursday in Dhaka and it will end today (Saturday).
Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development (BFTD) and Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) in collaboration with Ministry of Civil Aviation & Tourism, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of commerce and Industry (FBCCI), Bangladesh Inbound Tour operators Association and Bangladesh International Hotel Association have organized the annual event.
Travel agents, tour operators, hotels and resorts, card sellers, hospitals, institutions, National Tourism Organization (NTOs), airlines, fsinancial institution, online sellers and other tourism service providers have joined the fair.
