Trade bodies shocked at Neemtoli tragedy

Different trade bodies and business organizations expressed shock at the loss of 117 lives and prayed for recovery of injured at the devastating fire in old part of the city in separate statements Saturday.
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) president Abul Kasem Khan and members prayed for the salvation and eternal peace of the departed soul and sympathy for the bereaved families.
Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA) executive council also expressed condolence for the departed soul and prayed for injured people at its extended meeting. The meeting was chaired by BFFEA president Md Musa Mia.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) also expressed condolence and thanked doctors, army and fire fighters who rescued victims in the incident.
Meanwhile, the Singapore government has condoled the devastating fire accident of old Dhaka.
"We are shocked to learn of this terrible tragedy for Bangladesh and offer our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. We also wish all the survivors of the tragedy a speedy recovery," a spokesman of ministry of foreign affairs of Singapore said in a statement.
