Trade fair begins in Sylhet

A month-long International Trade Fair-2014 has begun in Sylhet Sadar Upazila playground. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith inaugurated the fair, organised by Sylhet Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the chief guest on Wednesday evening. The Finance Minister said that the country has witnessed vast development in the socio-economic arena in the last 6 years and hoped that Bangladesh would become a poverty-free nation by 2020. Administrator of Sylhet Zila Parishad and Sylhet district unit Awami League (AL) President Abdus Zahir Chowdhury Sufian, General Secretary of the district unit AL Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Sylhet Range, Mizanur Rahman were, among others, present, according to a news agency.
