Trade resumes thru HLP after five days

The normal import and export activities resumed since Wednesday through the Hili Land Port (HLP) in Dinajpur after five days of suspension on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr festivity.
According to the sources in Customs, importers, clearing and forwarding agents association (C&FAA) at HLP, all sorts of export-import activities remained suspended through the land port from July 17 to July 21 last.
General Secretary of C&FAA of HLP Abdur Rahman Litan told BSS that all normal activities, including imports, exports, customs clearance, loading and unloading of the goods resumed from Wednesday morning.
"Eighty-seven goods-laden trucks from India entered into Bangladesh on the first day on Wednesday and 95 more on the second day today through the HLP and the process will now continue as usual," Litan added.
However, movement of passport and visa holder Bangladeshi and Indian nationals remained normal through the Immigration Check Post at the HLP during the period despite closure of export-import activities.
