Trade talks between Bangladesh, Nepal begins

Trade talks at the secretary level between Bangladesh and Nepal began Saturday at Kathmandu for raising the volume of trade. Reports reaching here from Kathmandu said, transport connectivity and transit, trade fair, transportation of perishable goods by air, tourism and exchange of business delegations came up for discussion. The two-day talks will continue today (Sunday). Commerce Secretary Feroz Ahmed is leading the Bangladesh delegation, while his Nepalese counterpart Purushottam Ojha headed the home team at the talks held at Singha Durbar. Meeting sources said, two sides are also expected to discuss issues for harmonisation of customs procedures towards contributing to promotion of trade between the two countries. — UNB
