Trader shot by muggers succumbs to injuries at DMCH

A businessman, who suffered injuries when muggers snatched away Tk 50,000 opening fire at him in the city’s Kamalapur Railway Station on July 20, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as M Mostsfa Kamal, 55, a businessman and resident of Nandakumar Datta Lane in the city's Lalbagh area. Mostafa, who was undergoing treatment at the DMCH from July 20, succumbed to his injuries around 1:0am. Mostsfa came under attack of a gang of 6-7 muggers, near Kamlapur Station around 2.00pm on Sunday on the way to Chittagong for a business purpose. The miscreants on two motorcycles fired two bullets at him and snatched away Tk 50,000 contained in a bag with him, leaving him injured critically. An assistant sub-inspector of Motijheel Police Station rescued bullet-hit Mostafa and rushed him to the DMCH, according to UNB.
