Traffic congestion and Mirpur

It takes four hours to reach Noakhali from Motijheel by bus. The 162-kilometres distance takes less if a private car is taken. On the other hand, an 11-kilometre trip from Motijheel to Mirpur takes three hours, thanks to the traffic congestion on the main and inner roads of Mirpur.
Mirpur is a densely-populated residential area. Additionally, the ongoing work of the metro-rail project has occupied half of the Mirpur Road on both sides. The tailbacks have worsened further this month due to the Dhaka International Trade Fair.
I hope that the government will come up with some plans to address the traffic congestion problem in Mirpur soon.
