Train collision injures 100

LALMONIRHAT, June 20: At least 100 people were injured, when two trains collided head-on while crossing a level-crossing at the Kakina Railway Station under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat on Saturday morning. Railway sources said the accident took place in the area around 8:52 am, when a Burimari-bound commuter train crashed into a Lalmonirhat-bound local train at the station while crossing the level-crossing, suspending train movement on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari route. At least 100 passengers of both trains were injured while trying to get down from the trains hurriedly. — UNB
