Train derails in Joypurhat halting Parbotipur-Khulna rail service

Rail communications on the Parbotipur-Khulna and Chilahati-Rajshahi routes have remained suspended as a freight train derailed in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district on Wednesday morning. Station master of Joypurhat Railway Station SK Sarkar said four wheels of a goods-laden compartment of the freight train veered off the track near Panchbibi town around 8:50am, halting train services on the Parbotipur-Khulna and Chilahati-Rajshahi routes. However, none was inured in the accident. Being informed, a salvage train from Parbotipur rail junction started for the spot to remove the derailed compartment of the train, which started from Parbotipur, from rail tracks and clear the rail routes, according to a news agency.
