Train schedule becomes normal
FE REPORT | Monday, 28 October 2024
Train schedule from Kamalapur Rail Station in the city almost became normal on Sunday, barring only three express trains.
The movement of all trains to and from the central station of the country remained suspended from 12:15 pm on Friday before resuming after eight hours on the day.
However, the passengers witnessed a massive schedule mismatch with trains delaying 2-3 hours until Saturday midnight.
The derailment of six coaches of Panchagar Express on Friday damaged the automatic signaling system and caused the disruption.
Kamalapur Rail Station Master Mohammad Anwar Hossain told the FE that all trains left the Kamalapur station on time, except Rangpur Express, Chottrola Express and Mohua Express.
Rangpur bound Rangpur Express was five hour late while Chattogram bound Chottrola Express three hours and Mohonganj-bound Mohua Express one and a half hours.
A total of 39 pairs of trains or 78 intercity trains and 24 pairs or 48 commuter and mail trains run from the Kamalapur station every day.
