Train schedule not normal yet

FE REPORT | Sunday, 10 December 2023

The Bangladesh Railway (BR) is yet to restore schedule of all train services, including intercity, countrywide two days after the train accident.
Schedule disruptions have left thousands of passengers in woes at Kamalapur station.
The schedule collapsed after derailment of a commuter train hit by a crane on Thursday evening, suspending all rail communications to and from the capital, Dhaka.
The BR later restored the train service after 9:00 pm, taking five hours to salvage the derailed train.
However, passengers said almost all trains from the Kamalapur station started four to five hours after the schedule due to late arrival.
The passengers who were supposed to take Friday night trains suffered a lot for lack of space to take rest with their dependents. Many alleged that passengers were hardly given any information on expected time of arrival of any train or its departure.
