Train communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong were restored on Sunday afternoon after 11 hours of disruption following derailment of an oil-laden train at Rashidpur rail station in Habiganj district. Mohammad Yeasir Arafat, station master of Rashidpur Rail Station, said six oil tankers of a Chittagong-bound train veered off the tracks in the area around 4:15 am, halting train movements on Sylhet-Chittagong and Sylhet-Dhaka routes. However, the rail link was restored around 3:15 pm after a relief train from Akhaura rushed to the spot and removed the oil tankers, according to a news agency.
