Training course on sweater knitting ends at Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 15: A month-long training course on sweater knitting and linking machine operating (SKLMO) for the trainees of the 12th batch ended at the youth training centre (YTC) here recently.
The aim of the course was to create skilled and trained manpower to provide them with jobs in garments industries so that they could be self-reliant and thus eradicate 'monga' from this region.
Bangladesh Army, Directorate of Youth Development (DYD) and district administration jointly organised the training with the financial assistance of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT).
The concluding ceremony of the course was held at the hall room of YTC at Tulshinghat under Sadar upazila in the district recently with DYD Deputy Director M Abdur Razzak in the chair.
Additional District Magistrate M Siddiqur Rahman spoke at the function as the chief guest and Incharge of Gaibandha Army camp Major M Jahangir Alam and External Liaison Officer of BIFT M Mujibur Rahman were present as the special guests. The address of welcome was delivered by Assistant Director of DYD Abdur Razzak.
Later, the guests distributed certificates among the trainees in the function. As many as 66 young boys and 22 young girls from Rangpur and Gaibandha districts took part in the training.
