Training course on sweater knitting ends in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 17: A month-long training course on sweater knitting and linking machine operating (SKLMO) for the trainees of the 11th batch ended at the Youth Training Center (YTC) here recently.
The aim of the course was to create skilled and trained manpower to provide them with jobs in garments industries so that they could be self-reliant and eradicate monga gradually from this region.
Bangladesh Army, Directorate of Youth Development (DYD) and Gaibandha district administration jointly organised the training with the financial assistance of Bangladesh Garments Manufactures and Exporters' Association (BGMEA) and BGMEA Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT).
A concluding ceremony was also held al the hall room of YTC at Tulshighat under sadar Upazila on August 28 noon with deputy director of DYD M Abdur Razzak in the chair.
Deputy commissioner Abu Muhammad Yousuf addressed the function as chief gust and Manager of Finance and Accounts of BIFT ABM Noor-E-Alam was present as special gust. DYD Assistant Director Abdur Razzak delivered the address of welcome.
