Training on 'knowledge transfer to improve agri productivity'

A five-day training course on 'Knowledge transfer to improve agricultural productivity' was kicked off in the capital on Monday.
The National Produ-ctivity Organisation (NPO) and the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) jointly arranged the event attended by 24 delegates from Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, China, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and host Bangladesh.
The objectives of the training course are understanding the concept, management and models of knowledge transfer systems to farmers, explaining the methodologies and techniques to apply in such transfers, learning about key success factors from best practices of knowledge transfer and innovation models and exploring prospects for their adoption in APO members.
Two international resource persons -- one from India and the other from Japan -- and a local resource person will conduct the training.
Sheikh Faezul Amin, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Industries, inaugurated the training course as the chief guest.
Muhammad Mesbahul Alam, APO Alternate Director for Bangladesh and Director General (Additional Secretary) of NPO, Ministry of Industries, chaired the inaugural session.
