Training on XRF and micronutrient analysis held

BOGRA July 28: HarvestPlus Bangladesh arranged a two-day training on 'Calibration of XRF machine and micronutrient analysis in crops''.
The training was held at HarvestPlus Laboratory office, Bogra. This training will cover the basic principle and application of XRF as a screening method for the analysis of zinc and iron in whole grain of rice and wheat.
Harvest Plus has set up the XRF machine in the 1st floor of BCL cold storage office Nawdapara, Bogra. The machine will initially be used for the analysis of zinc and iron in rice.
The associate professor Dr. James Stangoulis and post Doc fellow Dr. Georgia Guild from the Flinder University of Australia imparted the training to the HarvestPlus staff. HarvestPlus Country Manager Dr. Khairul Bashar inaugurated the training session.
At the end of the first day training a courtesy meeting was held in the evening at the Sky View restaurant of TMSS Mohila Market where the Executive Director of TMSS Professor Dr. Hosne Ara, HarvestPlus Country Manager Dr. Khairul Bashar, Dr. James Stangoulis, Dr. Georgia Guild, Mr. Anis Rahman, Director program of TMSS Mr. Zakir Hossain and other invited staff of HarvestPlus and TMSS were present.
