Training on zinc enriched paddy held in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Aug 13 (BSS): A daylong training programme for the farmers on the production, processing and preservation of zinc enriched Aman paddy was held in the town yesterday.
A total of 30 farmers of Rajbari and Faridpur participated in the course, jointly organised by Social Development Committee (SDC), a local NGO, and Harvest, Bangladesh, to gather practical knowledge and expertise on production of high zinc-enriched rice, seed and its processing.
Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Sankar Chandra Bhowmik attended the training programme as the chief guest with Executive Director of SDC Kazi Ashraful Hassan in the chair.
Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Bhanga centre Shah Asadul Islam and M Hafizul Islam, ARD of Harvest Plus, Bangladesh imparted the training to the farmers.
