Training, skill development of women entrepreneurs underscored

RANGPUR, Apr 29 (BSS) : Adequate training for development skill and expertise of the women entrepreneurs could further flourish their trade, business and enterprises in enhancing the national economy, speakers said here Wednesday.
They said the women entrepreneurs have already been substantially accelerating the national uplift and economic activities promoting women empowerment in every sector to advance the country forward towards a middle income nation.They were addressing  the inaugural ceremony of an eight-day long training course on 'Basic Beautification and Cutting on Tailoring' under the Development and Expansion of Women Entrepreneurship Programme at the RCCI auditorium in the city.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs have been organising the training course with the assistance of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
Forty member female entrepreneurs of Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI) and RCCI have been participating in the course with 20 each on 'Basic Beautification' and 20 others on 'Basic Cutting on Tailoring' trades.
After completion of their training course on May 7 next, the participating 20 women entrepreneurs will get one beautification box each and another 20 women entrepreneurs will receive one sewing machine each free of costs.  Dilruba Begum has been coordinating the training course and also conducting various sessions.
President of RCCI Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
President of RWCCI Anwar Ferdousi Poly, its senior vice-president Shahanaz Parveen Shahin and director of RCCI Md Fazlul Haque addressed the occasion as the special guests.
The chief guest  Mr Chowdhury said that the country's community and female entrepreneurs have been playing vital role in accelerating the socioeconomic uplift activities in every sector now through their vital contribution and leadership.  Despite achieving huge success by the women entrepreneurs, they could further flourish trade, business, commerce, industries and enterprises if their skill and expertise were improved through providing necessary training, he added.
He thanked the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs for arranging the time-befitting training course that would definitely help the women entrepreneurs of the backward Rangpur region in flourishing their trade, commerce, business and enterprises.
