Sunday, 19 April 2026

The Department of English and Humanities at BRAC University organised a dynamic 'Translation Workshop by Jackie Kabir' for students of ENG 465: Translation Studies (Spring 2026) on the campus in the capital on Thursday, says a press release.
The workshop brought together aspiring translators and literature enthusiasts for an engaging session on the art and craft of translation. Jackie Kabir shared her extensive experience translating literary texts between Bangla and English, offering students valuable insights into real-world translation practices. She also introduced key translation strategies and guided participants through hands-on exercises drawn from her latest anthology, Crimson Letters.
The session was coordinated by course instructor Dr Sabreena Ahmed, Associate Professor of the Department of English and Humanities, who emphasised the importance of bridging theory with practice in translation studies.
