Transport strike in 8 Dhaka dists postponed

Dhaka Divisional (North) Transport Owners-Workers Oikya Parishad on Tuesday postponed until May 29 its indefinite strike enforced in eight districts of Dhaka division to press home their seven-point demand.
President of Mymensingh Motor Owners Association Mamtaj Uddin told reporters that they decided to withdraw the strike following a fruitful meeting between Oikya Parishad leaders and the government in the capital.
Dhaka Divisional (North) Transport Owners-Workers Oikya Parishad enforced the indefinite strike in the eight districts at 6am today.
The districts under the purview of the strike are Netrakona, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Dhaka, Tangail and Gazipur, according to UNB.
