Transport strike in Sylhet div Tuesday
Monday, 7 July 2014
Sylhet Division unit of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers’ Federation will enforce a dawn-to-dusk transport strike in four districts of the division on Tuesday to press home their three-point demand. The demands are immediate arrest of the killers of driver Jahangir, tracing missing driver Sohel and protesting dismissal of 23 workers of Lafarge Surma Cement Company at Chattak of Sunamganj. The decision was taken at a meeting of the federation at its Babna Point office in Dakkhin Surma on June 30. The federation also threatened to enforce an indefinite transport strike if their demands were not met immediately, according to a news agency.
