Travellers can carry up to Tk 5,000 touring abroad

Bangladesh citizens and foreign travellers will be eligible to carry local currency worth Tk 5,000 without making any declaration while going to foreign countries or entering Bangladesh. In a circular issued Thursday, Bangladesh Bank directed the Authorised Dealer branches of all banks that from now on Bangladesh citizens and foreign travellers will be able to carry up to Tk 5,000 instead of earlier Tk 2,000 without making any declaration at the Customs. — UNB
