Trawler sinks near Ashulia, 12 missing

A trawler carrying labourers and ready-made garment workers collided with a cargo boat and capsized in river Turag at Ashulia Sunday night, leaving about 14 people missing.
A Fire Service official said that some 12 to 14 passengers were missing after the accident. A team of fire service divers took part in rescue operation.
Serajul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station, said the boat capsized around 10:00 pm with some 45 passengers.
Seven to eight women garment workers were among the passengers of the sunken vessel, the officer said.
