Tree and fruit fair begins at B'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, July 18: The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) and the Forest Department (FD) jointly organised a week-long tree and fruit fair 2007 on the premises of Poura Mukta Mancha at Brahmanbaria. The fair began on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner( DC) of Brahmanbaria district Md. Abdul Hye inaugurated the fair as the chief guest while DAE Deputy Director Md. Matiar Rahman presided over it.
Brahmanbaria Superin-tendent of Police Md. Ataul Kibria and Brahmanbaria Municipality Chairman Md. Hafizur Rahman Molla Kachi were also present as special guests.
A total of twenty five stalls were set up in the fair.
After visiting the fair, the chief guest distributed different types of plants including medicinal plants among the people.
Various fruits like mango, jackfruit, blackberry, guava, pineapple etc. were exhibited in the fair.
