Tree fair begins in dists

GOPALGANJ, Aug 18: A 5-day long tree fair, 2014 was began at Shilpakala Academy premises in Gapalganj city today (Monday).
District administration, forest department and agriculture extension department, Gopalganj, jointly organised the fair which is to continue till August 22.
Md. Khalilur Rahman Deputy Commissioner (DC), Gapalganj formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.
Atul Krishna Mallik, Deputy Director (DD) Agriculture Extension Department, Gapalganj presided over the inaugurating session.
BSS report from Netrakona says: A week-long tree plantation and tree fair-2014 began here on Sunday.
Netrakona district administration, district forest department and district agricultural extension department jointly organized the week-long tree fair at Netrakona old collectorate office premises.
Deputy minister for youth and sports Arif Khan Joy formally inaugurated the tree plantation drive and tree fair.
Speaking on the occasion, Arif Khan called upon the people to plant more saplings to keep balance of environment as well as protect the nature and bio-diversity from the adverse impact of climate change.
