Trial against Amar Desh editor ordered

Amar Desh Acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman has been indicted in a case filed over non-submission of his wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Dhaka's Third Special Judge's Court on Monday fixed May 28 for the hearing after the indictment. State counsel Mosharraf Hossain Kajol said ACC Deputy Director Nur Ahmed filed the case on June 13, 2013. He was asked to submit his wealth statement on April 19 last year. The case was filed after he failed to respond to the notice. Investigating officer (IO) Nur Ahmed pressed charges in the court on July 15. Mahmudur Rahman was present in the court when the judge passed the order today, according to bdnews24.com.
