Tribunal censures BNP for making Nizami a minister

Censuring the previous BNP-Jamaat alliance government (2001-06) for picking war crimes convict Motiur Rahman Nizami as its cabinet member, the International Crimes Tribunal -1 in its verdict on Wednesday observed that it was in fact a slap on the faces of the country’s Liberation War heroes. The judgment says, “It’s very hard to believe that the person who had actively opposed Bangladesh’s Liberation War was made a minister of the Republic, according to a news agency.
