Tribunal to start recording of deposition on Sept 30

SYLHET. Sept 21: A Sylhet court on Monday fixed September 30 to start recording of deposition of prosecution witnesses in the former finance minister SAMS Kibria killing case.
The Speedy Trial Tribunal of Sylhet Judge Makbul Ahsan passed the order in the presence of accused former state minister Lutfuzzaman Babar, suspended Sylhet City mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury and suspended Habiganj Municipality mayor GK Gaus, Huji leader Abdul Hannan and others in the court.
Besides, on the basis of medical board report from the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, the judge ordered better treatment for accused Ariful Haque in Dhaka.
After the case was deferred nine times since June, the court earlier on September 13 framed charges against the accused.
Kibria and 4 others were killed in a grenade attack on a rally of AL at Baidderbazar Government Primary School in Habiganj Sadar upazila on January 27, 2005.
Awami League leader Abdul Mazid Khan filed two cases -- one formurder and another under the Explosives Substances Act -- with theHabiganj thana the following day.
Kibria murder case was transferred to the Speedy Trial Tribunal fromHabiganj Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on June 11 for its quick disposal
