Tributes to Dr Aleem Al Razee

The 23rd death anniversary of Dr. Aleem Al Razee, a renowned parliamentarian, jurist, educationist, philanthropist and author, was observed with due solemnity Saturday, reports UNB.
Dr. Aleem Al Razee Memorial Council members laid floral wreaths at the grave of Dr. Razee at Banani and offered prayer for the salvation of his departed soul. The destitutes were fed at his village home in Lawhati, Tangail.
Discussions on the life and works of Dr. Razee were held by Tangail Zila Samity, Sandhani National Eye Donation Society, Nagarpur Government College, Tangail, Dr. Aleem Al Razee High School in Lawhati, Tangail.
Speakers paid rich tributes to his memory and recalled his outstanding contribution toward promoting democracy, rule of law and social justice in both pre and post independent Bangladesh.
Launching his career as a noted Islamic scholar, he embraced the ideals of a liberalist, progressive and free thinker that influenced the rest of his life, they observed.
