Tributes to Holey Artisan terror attack victims

People from all walks of life, including Bangladesh's foreign friends, paid on Sunday their deep respect to those who lost their lives in the Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery terror attack on July 01, 2016, reports UNB.
Representatives from various political parties, foreign and diplomatic missions, police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) paid their respect to the cafe attack victims at the site of the Gulshan carnage in the morning.
Japan Ambassador Hiroyasu Izumi, Italian Ambassador Mario Palma, representative from Australia Embassy, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, Rab Director General Benazir Ahmed paid their homage to the victims of the terror attack.
Besides, a delegation of Awami League led by its General Secretary Obaidul Quader paid their homage to the victims around 10:25 am.
Meanwhile, a BNP delegation led by its vice-chairman Major Gen (Retd) Ruhul Alam Chowdhury paid their respects to the victims around 1:30 pm.
Twenty-two people -- nine Italians, seven Japanese, one Indian, one Bangladeshi-born American and two Bangladeshis -- were killed in the terror attack on the upscale restaurant.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has installed the murals of its two officials, who were killed during the militant attack on Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016, in front of old Gulshan Police Station at Gulshan Avenue in the city.
DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia formally inaugurated the murals titled 'Dipta Shapath' created by eminent sculptor Mrinal Haque commemorating the supreme sacrifice of the two DMP officials.
