Tripura Governor calls on PM

Governor of Indian State of Tripura Dr DY Patil Monday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Gonobhaban, reports UNB. During the meeting they discussed bilateral issues including trade between the two neighbouring countries, especially with Tripura. PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters after the meeting. He said that the PM recalled the cooperation of the India, especially the people and the government of Tripura during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. "We will always remember your help and cooperation for our liberation war," she said. Hasina also mentioned that both the countries have good cultural bondage. She said the culture and customs of Tripura are similar to those in Bangladesh. Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Ambassador at large M Ziauddin and Principal Secretary MA Karim were, among others, present.77
