Truck overturns 8 vegetable traders killed

TANGAIL, Nov 2 (bdnews24.com): At least eight people were killed and another was injured when a vegetable-laden truck overturned at the approach road to the Bangabandhu Bridge in Tangail early Tuesday.
the police sources said that the Dhaka-bound truck from Gaibandha overturned at Kandila area of the road around 12am Tuesday. It was trying to give way to a bus trying to overtake it.
"Eight vegetable traders, riding on top of the truck, died on spot while another was injured," Tangail highway police sub-inspector Salauddin said.
Seriously injured Tara Mia (11) and Jafar Sarker (42) were admitted to the Tangail General Hospital.
The victims were identified as Azizur Rahman (55), Noor Mohammad (35), Shahnoor Mandol (45), Sobhan (40), Shuhin Mia (22), Diren (40), Harmus (35) and Forhad (20).
The deceased were all residents of villages in Sadullapur Upazila in Gaibandha. The police seized the truck but the driver and helper fled.
