Trucker held with 30,000 Yaba

A trucker was arrested along with 30,000 pieces of Yaba tablet at Moijjartek under Karnaphuli Police Station in Chittagong city on Thursday. The arrested is Nurul Islam, a truck driver and a resident of Purba Pankhali village at Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district. Tapan Sharma, inspector of the Department of Narcotics Control (Sub-region), Chittagong, said on secret information, a team of police and officials of the department jointly conducted a drive at Moijjartek and intercepted a truck on its way to the port city from Teknaf around 2:00 am. The law enforcers arrested truck driver Nurul Islam and seized 30,000 pieces of the contraband tablet from his vehicle. Nurul Islam had long been involved in trading of the highly amphetamine tablet in different areas of the city, the inspector added, according to UNB.
