True followers of faith do not neglect duties: Muhith

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said Wednesday true followers of faith do not neglect duties entrusted with them, reports BSS.

But, there is a misconception in society that religious people should not be bothered with such worldly responsibilities, he said while addressing as the chief guest at the publication ceremony of Alor Pathe, a faith-based book.

The finance minister congratulated National Professor and heart specialist Brig (retd) Abdul Malik for writing the book containing 88 pages worth Tk 80 or US dollar 10.

The National Heart Foundation (NHF) has the copyright of Alor Pathe and the money to be earned from the sales proceeds of the book will be used for benevolent activities for the poor.

NHF organised the publication ceremony at its auditorium in the city.

Justice Chowdhury ATM Mosud presided over the ceremony addressed, among others, by special guest and Chief Whip Vice- Principal Mohammad Abdus Shahid, former minister and Army Chief Lt Gen (retd) Mohammad Nuruddin Khan, Editor of the News Today Reazuddin Ahmed and Vice-Chancellor of South-East University Prof Dr M Shamsher Ali.

The chief whip said the veteran heart specialist has shown the way of rendering duties by both religious men and dutiful persons.
