TRUST BANK AND WATER.ORG LAUNCH WASH FINANCING PARTNERSHIP
Trust Bank PLC and Water.org formally launched their strategic WaterCredit collaboration through a ceremony held at a city hotel recently. The event was organised by the SME Division of Trust Bank PLC. Under this partnership, Trust Bank PLC will mobilise a dedicated WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) financing portfolio amounting to Tk 3.50 billion over the next three years. The initiative aims to expand access to finance for MSMEs and microfinance institutions operating in the water and sanitation sector across Bangladesh. Major General Mohd Hossain Al Morshed, Vice Chairman of Trust Bank and Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army, attended the event as the chief guest and Chowdhury Liakat Ali, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department (SFD) of Bangladesh Bank, as the special guest. Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of Trust Bank PLC, was also present.
