Truth Commission realised Tk 340m from 452 people

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Barrister Shafique Ahmed Sunday said the now defunct Truth Commission constituted by the past caretaker government had realised around Tk 340 million (34 crore) as 452 people returned their ill-gotten money on mercy, reports BSS.
Replying to a question by Awami League (AL) lawmaker Waresat Hossain Belal, he said 452 people obtained government mercy paying due penalties.
117 officials made OSD: Ashraful
Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Syed Ashraful Islam, who is also Minister-in-Charge of the Establishment in the House, said Sunday there are now 117 officials, made Officers on Special Duty (OSD).
Replying to a question raised by independent member Mohammad Fazlul Azim, he said nine of them are at Secretary level, 31 at Additional Secretary level, 43 at Joint Secretary level and 34 at Deputy Secretary level.
The minister said these officials were made OSD due to their study leave, attachment to different ministries and departments, overseas training, OSD on study (deputation), OSD on extra ordinary leave and OSD for local training.
Besides, he said, some officials, who have been made OSD after promotion, are awaiting posting.
