Tuku blames Khaleda for mass-arrest
Tuesday, 30 November 2010
State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku has held main opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia responsible for the mass-arrests across the country, reports bdnews24.com.
He alleged that Khaleda Zia put to risk the lives of 'fresh' Juba Dol activists by calling the strike. "Those who called the strike want to create anarchy and foil democracy", he added.
Mr Tuku made the remarks Monday following a meeting on 'Bishwa Ijtema Law and Order' at the ministry.
Home Minister Sahara Khatun, who was also present in the meeting, told newsmen that the Ijtema authorities had proposed holding the Akheri Munajat in two spells, during the upcoming Bishwa Ijtema between January 21 and 23.
