Tullow sticks to its position

Friday, 27 November 2009

In the second round of talks over the issue of block awarding, the Irish oil and gas company Tullow again urged the Petrobangla to give them some areas adjoining the Block-5 they had bid for as most areas of the block were disputed because those overlapped with the area chained by India, reports BSS.
During the talks with top officials of the Petrobangla Wednesday, the Tullow once again made the plea as the Block-5 lost its potential, a top official said.
However, the meeting has concluded without fixing new date for further negotiation.
As part of the negotiation with the international oil company (IOC), the Petrobangla, the state-run oil and gas company, started talks with the Tullow on October 13 to explore hydrocarbon potential in Block-5 of the Bay of Bengal.
