Turkish President due today

Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrives in Dhaka today (Friday) on a two-day official visit to Bangladesh with a view to strengthening bilateral relations, reports BSS.
This would be the first visit of a head of state to Bangladesh since the Awami League (AL)-led grand alliance government assumed power in January last year.
President Zillur Rahman will receive the Turkish President at Zia International Airport at 2:00pm, a foreign ministry spokesperson told the news agency Thursday.
From the airport, she said, the Turkish President will go straight to Sonargaon Hotel where he would stay during his visit to Bangladesh.
Later, he will go to Savar and pay tribute to the martyrs of the War of Liberation in 1971 at the National Memorial, the spokesperson said.
Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith and Foreign Minister Dipu Moni will call on the Turkish President separately at his hotel suite in the afternoon.
In the evening, he will go to Bangabhaban where official talks between the two Presidents will be held. Later, they will meet the press.
The Turkish President will join a state banquet to be hosted by President Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban, the spokesperson said.
On February 13, a joint meeting of businessmen from both the countries will be held in presence of the Turkish President.
