TV journo killed in road accident in Agargaon

Belal Hossain, joint news editor of a private television (TV) channel Somoy, was killed Saturday in a road accident in the city, reports UNB. Hossain (33), died when a bus knocked him down from a rickshaw on the road in front of BCS Computer City in Agargaon area. Hossain, along with his wife, two-year-old daughter, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, was going to the Computer City in the rickshaw to buy a personal computer (PC). His brother-in-law Mainul Islam said that they all were in the same rickshaw, but Hossain fell down on the road when a bus hit it from behind. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at 12.45pm. The other passengers of the rickshaw, including his daughter, were unhurt. Meanwhile, Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep shock at the death of journalist Belal Hossain. In a condolence message, the PM prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed her profound sympathy to the bereaved family members. In another message, Awami League general secretary and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam also condoled the death of Belal. BSS adds: Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad has also expressed deep shock at the death of Belal Hossain. In message of condolence, Azad said the nation has lost a committed journalist with the death of the young and talented Belal. He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
