Twin-bourse tumbles

The country's twin-bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), opened with losses in early hour of trading on Sunday with marginal volatility, the first trading session of the week.
DSEX – the prime index of the DSE -- went down by 10.73 points or 0.23 per cent to 4,636.94, after the first 30 minutes of the trade when the report was filed at 11am. The two other indices also saw negative trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, dropped 4.83 points or 0.27 per cent to 1,757.71. The DSE Shariah Index – DSES – shed 2.33 points or 0.20 per cent to stand at 1,110.92 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk462 million when the report was filed. Of the issues traded till then, 61 advanced, 109 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
Aman Feed was the most traded stocks till then with shares Tk 57 million changing hands followed by Miracle Industries, KDS Accessories, United Airways and CVO Petrochemical Refinery.
The port city bourse – CSE – also saw downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – shedding 8.56 points to stand at 8,628.02, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 27 gained, 31 declined and 15 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk46 million.
